ZARAPE
This chair was the catalyst for my exploration into weaving techniques and material behavior. Its combination of carved wooden structure and hand-wrapped fiber seating introduced me to weaving as both a functional system and a tactile design language.
By analyzing its construction, I began experimenting with different weaving processes — studying tension, load distribution, rhythm, and pattern. The piece revealed how softness can become structural, and how repetition can create strength.
It marks the beginning of my research into woven surfaces as architectural elements within furniture design.
